What are the economic relations between the Netherlands and Wallonia? What experiences has a Dutch transporter with a Wallonia-based establishment? How is the Walloon economy compared to the Flemish?
This is a non-exhaustive selection of issues raised in the Volkskrant interview with Jaap Quist (Steenbergen b.v.'s owner) and Dirk Steyaert (Steenbergen Belgium's Director). Both directors give their views on the present developments in the Walloon economy and tell about their positive experiences with Walloon institutions and its culture. Both directors admit they were rather sceptical in the beginning, but now they are convinced of the opportunities Wallonia offers.
Both directors have a positive outlook on Wallonia's future and support their view with figures of a growing Walloon economy and a 16th place in the Financial Times Ranking of promising European regions.
